Dr. Rachel Wright Karem, PhD, CCC-SLP is a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) with over 11 years of experience. As a certified bilingual English-Spanish speaking SLP with dedicated study and research focusing on bilingual children, she strives to support children in communicating across all of the contexts and languages important to them. Dr. Rachel obtained her PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati and currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Indiana University. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Stephen, two-year-old daughter, Islay, and rambunctious pup, Ruby!
Dr. Rachel's therapeutic approach is family-centered and places a primary focus on strategies that are feasible and easily embedded into familial routines. Children's progress can be maximized when they are highly motivated and engaged, as such, Dr. Rachel also ensures children's interests are at the forefront of each session. By applying a strengths-based and holistic perspective, she supports children and families in achieving their communication goals in the matters that are important to them!
